Update (Aug. 11 4:52 p.m. EST): After news surfaced that a Georgia official was calling for a criminal investigation into R. Kelly’s actions, apparently there is no new evidence against R. Kelly and the allegations that he is running an illegal cult of women in Atlanta, according to TMZ. The outlet says they reached out to Jones Creek Police Dept., who claims that there is no new evidence, and no compelling reason to open a criminal investigation. They also report that Kellz is “furious” over John Eaves’ comments at the press conference, claiming that he is not doing anything wrong. The singer believes that he is using the situation and the current allegations for his own personal gain. Original Story: The allegations against R. Kelly are getting deeper, and his case is becoming highly concerning as more alleged details surface. According to BuzzFeed, the Chairman of Fulton County, Ga. is calling for a full criminal investigation into the veteran R&B singer following allegations that he is holding women against their will in a cult that “sexually exploits” them.

In a press conference Friday (Aug. 11), John Eaves revealed there has been new evidence uncovered by law enforcement, and an investigative file has been handed over to the district attorney. “Today, I am asking District Attorney Paul Howard and his investigative officers and prosecutors to fully review the report of the John Creek Police and follow every lead — no matter where it leads, or who it implicates, and bring those persons to swift justice,” Eaves stated. Eaves has not read the contents of the investigative file, nor did he state the specifics of the new evidence, but he is encouraging the district attorney to launch a full investigation. He also made sure to mention that no one is above the law, saying, “We will not allow our young girls and young women to be preyed upon by predators or anyone who aims to brainwash and strip them of their human dignity and their right to be free.”

If you recall, original reports surfaced from parents that Kellz was allegedly holding several young women against their will after promising a slew of them he would be advancing their musical careers. He is said to be housing them at both his Duluth, Ga. “guest house” or at his Chicago recording studio. Following the reports, one of the alleged captives came forward in a video, stating she was “fine” and not being held against her will. R. Kelly also released a statement from his legal team, denying the allegations against him. “Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him,” the statement read. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.” Read More: R.
